Overview

Our client is a dynamic and innovative digital software consultancy looking to build a team to continue solving problems using software and technology for their clients. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Security IT Support Engineer to join their dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security of the organisation’s IT systems, networks, and data through proactive monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement of security measures. This role will involve providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting security issues, implementing security solutions, and contributing to the overall cyber resilience of the organisation.

The Role

Security Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attacks, unauthorised access attempts, and other security breaches. Take appropriate action to mitigate threats and minimise impact.

Security Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor security systems and tools for suspicious activities, anomalies, and potential threats. Analyse security logs and reports to identify security issues and recommend solutions.

Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications. Work with relevant teams to prioritise and remediate vulnerabilities.

Security Solutions Implementation: Deploy, configure, and maintain security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and endpoint security solutions.

User Education and Awareness: Develop and deliver security awareness training and materials to educate end-users about best practices for maintaining security, recognising and avoiding threats, and protecting sensitive information.

Policy Development and Compliance: Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of IT security policies, standards, and procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).

Incident Documentation and Reporting: Document security incidents, investigations, and resolutions in detail. Prepare reports on security metrics, trends, and compliance status for management and stakeholders.

Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users regarding security-related issues, including password resets, account permissions, encryption, and secure remote access. Collaborate with other IT support teams to resolve complex security incidents.

Security Awareness and Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies through continuous learning of programs.

About You

  • Proven 4 years minimum experience in IT support (1st line) roles with a focus on cyber security.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security technologies.
  • Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and vulnerability scanners.
  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent are preferred.

Candidates must be able to commute to the Dubai office as the role is onsite.
